Annual reports
Children in need
The Foundation has the objective to help children which are in need, in particular orphans.
This category includes children who lost their parents due to accidental reasons, or have been abandoned, or who are left non-accompanied.
The foundation aims to do so offering in-kind or material help to children in their transitions to find a family and to become autonomous.
The Foundation has supported projects to help non-accompanied minors in Italy, children in need in Greece, orphans in Kyrgyzstan.
Art & Science
The Foundation has the objective to help children with high potential, in particular children between 6 and 18 years old to develop their art and science skills. The children’s skills include: innovation, creativity, research, technology, design, graphic art, modelling art, drawing. These are the main areas in which Luigi excelled.
The Foundation can support dedicated events, stages and educational activities.
Projects supported by “Leonardo 4 Children” initiative
The funds and material raised by the “Leonardo 4 Children” initiative are entirely used for education of children in need, such as orphans, abandoned children, children without parents, sick children, children in refugee camps.
The majority of the funds are used to support children located in countries outside the EU, in 3 projects located in Middle East, Eastern partner countries, Africa, which have been selected via an open call for proposals by mid 2019.
Concerts and events
In cooperation with several classic music artists and groups, the foundation organises music concerts to raise funds in favour of children in need and children’s education on art and science, to recognise the winners of Leonardo 4 Children awards and to promote young music talents.
Creative toys and road safety equipment for children in need via Marathons
In partnership with marathon runners, on the occasion of marathon or other sport events the foundation supports the collection of objects, in particular toys or books for children on art and science, and child safety seats, to donate to local organisations for the benefit of children in need.
Students’ grant offered by Leonardo company in partnership with Turin Polytechnic University
In memory of Luigi Carano and Erika Ciancaleoni, the Leonardo company (formerly Alenia Aeronautica) has established a yearly student’s grant in cooperation with Turin Polytechnic University.
This year, for the 10th edition, they offer 2 grants worth 5000 € each to the best students who will prepare a final thesis on aeronautics. See the link. The winners will be announced in May 2019.
