The “Leonardo 4 Children” initiative includes several non-profit and charity events, which have the purpose to:

  1. Present the awards and recognise the winners of the international Awards raising awareness on climate, equality and peace;
  2. Promote children and young music talents;
  3. Raise funds in favour of beneficiary projects to support children in need with education in art & science.

EVENT “LEONARDO 4 CHILDREN 2020: CLIMATE ACTION”

“COVID-19 MEASURES”

In the context of the progressive resumption of activities following the COVID-19 epidemic, the concert “Leonardo 4 Children 2020: Climate Action” was the occasion to officially announce the winners of the climate contests for children and adolescents that ended last June 30. The event also promoted the re-launching of activities in the City of Turin under the banner of music, culture and art, involving especially young people, who performed in choral and musical performances.

The artistic coordination of the concert has been provided by Giorgio Guiot, who conducted the following musical groups: the CoroMuse of Turin schools, the youth choir CantabiLAB, a string quartet and a chamber group of the Wind Orchestra Giovanni XXIII conducted by Maestro Antonio Zizzamia. The programme included some pieces dedicated to the themes of environment and climate and a homage to Maestro Ennio Morricone.

The net funds raised through the concert went to the children of the schools located in the vulnerable districts of the Piedmontese capital in collaboration with MUS-E Torino in order to raise awareness of the theme of environmental sustainability and climate change through art and music inspired by the creative genius of Leonardo da Vinci.

Patronages: European Parliament, City of Turin, Piedmont Region, European Committee of the Regions, European Economic and Social Committee and Tuscany Region.

CONCERT “Leonardo 4 Children 2019”

The concert marked the conclusion of the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci and celebrate the “Leonardo 4 Children” initiative. It has taken place in the splendid location of Auditorium Parco della Musica (Sala Sinopoli) and feature the Italian Police orchestra, including professional interpretations of the musical works produced by the winners of the Leonardo 4 Children competitions inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s Fables.

  • Purpose: celebration of winners of Leonardo4Children competitions, interactive workshop with children, non-profit fundraising in favour of orphans and children in need with art and science in Jordan, Kenya and Ukraine
  • All funds raised – € 8100 – have been donated to artistic and scientific education of children in the following beneficiary projects:

    1. “Leonardo 4 Children “Art and music for Syrian children in refugee camps in Jordan (UNICEF)
    2. Art and science for orphaned and abandoned children in Ukraine (Charity May)
    3. Art and science for street children in deprived neighborhood of Nairobi, Kenya (Action for Children in Conflict, Foundation Pianoterra).

CONCERT “Leonardo 4 Children 2019”

Museo della Scienza e della Tecnologia “Leonardo da Vinci”, Milan, Italy

In the context of “Leonardo 4 Children” initiative, the foundation organised a music workshop for children who created their own music interpretation of selected Fables by Leonardo da Vinci. The concert included the performance of the children participating in the workshop as well as professional interpretations of the musical works produced by the winners of the Leonardo 4 Children competitions inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s Fables.

  • The concert is unique and original, and consists of musical interpretation and singing of fairy tales by Leonardo da Vinci interpreted by professionals and sung by children’s choir and orchestra, and interpreted freely and creatively by children through a dedicated theater and music workshop. 
  • Purpose: celebration of winners of Leonardo 4 Children competitions, interactive workshop with children, non-profit fundraising in favour of art and science education for the children in the suburbs of Nairobi, Kenya, in collaboration with Action for Children in Conflict and Fondazione Pianoterra.

  • Purpose: The funds raised through the concert and the sale of books “Leonardo 4 Children” (GUNTI) will be donated to the Meyer Foundation, to support the Play Terapy project, i.e. all the initiatives related to art and care that take place in the Meyer Children’s Hospital, from music in the hospital to theater workshops, from school to fairy tales, in favor of children.

CONCERT “THE FABLES OF LEONARDO DA VINCI IN MUSIC”

On the occasion of the Tuscany Region celebration (“Festa della Toscana”), the foundation and the Tuscany Regional Orchestra organise a concert of classical music and Leonardo da Vinci’s Fables, with classical music performed by young talents, to raise funds in favour of “play therapy” for children in the pediatric hospital Meyer in Florence.

The concert included the performance of children participating in the workshop and professional interpretations of the musical works produced by the winners of the Leonardo 4 Children competitions inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s Fables, in collaboration with the ORT Foundation and the Meyer Foundation.

The funds raised through the concert and the sale of the books “Leonardo 4 Children” (GUNTI) equal to € 2,500 have been donated to the Meyer Foundation, to support the project Play Terapy, i.e. all initiatives related to art and care that take place in the Meyer Children’s Hospital in Florence, from music in the hospital to theater workshops, from school to fairy tales, in favour of children.

Event fully booked: 500 participants !

On the occasion of the 500-year anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci (1519-2019), the 30-year anniversary of UN Declaration of Children’s rights (1989-2019), and after the EU Education Summit taking place in Brussels the same day, the foundation organises a ceremony to recognise the children, young composers and teenagers who have won the three “Leonardo 4 Children” competitions, followed by a classical music concert featuring the winning compositions on the Fables of Leonardo da Vinci.

  • Location and tickets: Palais des Beaux-Arts, BOZAR, Rue Ravensteinstraat 23 – Brussels
  • Timing: Thursday 26th September 2019, 19:00-21:00, followed by a drink.
  • Programme: Award ceremony, concert featuring the winning compositions on the Fables of Leonardo da Vinci
  • Artists: violinist Esther Abrami, prof. Slawomir Zubrzycki with viola organista (instrument designed by Leonardo da Vinci), children’s choir from European School Brussels, strings quartet, piano, soprano Sara Barakat, tenor Jeysson Estrella Diaz.
  • Purpose: recognition of winners of Leonardo4Children competitions, non-profit fundraising in favour of children refugees in Jordan with art and science, via UNICEF.

Leonardo & Music, Torino, 5th June 2019

The concert has been a great success with more than 450 participants, allowing to raise funds in favour of education in art and music of children in less developed areas of the city, and in favour of education in art and science of orphans and abandoned children in Ukraine orhpanages via Charity May.

The event included the announcement of the winners of the “Leonardo 4 Children” competitions and the selected beneficiary projects of the initiative, followed by a classical music concert.

Concert in favour of orphans in Kyrgyzstan

Milan, 11th December 2018

In the context of the fundraising campaign in favour of Oasis project to help orphans in Kyrgyzstan to adult life through education to art and music, the Carano 4 Children foundation in cooperation with il SETTICLAVIO aps, has organised afund-raising concert of classical music

“Melodramma italiano” ​with mezzosoprano , harp and classic quartet.

The concert has been a great success with more than 170 participants, allowing to raise about 2000 € which are allowing 75 children to get music and singin classes, drawing and handicraft education.
